Electrical Enclosures
Ritherdon stainless steel, electrical enclosures are designed and manufactured to a high standard to protect electrical and/or electronic components (19 inch rack assemblies can be incorporated) from the extremes of European weather (and further afield) for a very long time. You will see many of our enclosures in roadside applications around the UK (look for our oval logo), from traffic-signal power supplies to traffic counting and CCTV sites, they are also used in a wide variety of other industries from utilities to telecommunications.
We'll add more case studies to the website soon; but recent, interesting applications (all of which needed a long-lasting, high-quality enclosure) include the following:
- Renewable energy projects - 70 off Ritherdon R620 enclosures used on a solar power site in the South West.
- R620 enclosures housing oil well blow-out gas detection equipment (solar powered) for the petroleum industry in Saudi Arabia.
- 20 off RB800 enclosures for the electric car-charging scheme in Newcastle.
Features and benefits of our stainless steel enclosures
| Highly resistant to corrosion |
Much longer life, giving you a lower total cost of ownership and reducing the carbon footprint of production and installation. |
| |
Remain aesthetically pleasing - no rust. |
| |
Removes the environmental impact of the galvanizing process. |
| Closer manufacturing tolerances |
Better sealing against the weather and dust. |
| |
Better-looking products (they might 'only be enclosures', but we think it matters!). |
| Powder coated (when required) |
A much smoother finish than with galvanized products (including a broad choice of colours to suit the surroundings). |
| Thinner gauge metal possible* |
Enclosures are lighter, making for easier and safer handling during installation, while maintaining integrity after minor collisions (see our pillar strength test). |
*There is no need to add extra thickness purely to withstand the galvanizing process.
